ANOTHER VITTORIA BOOK?
Could it be?
Rumour has it that Twila and Roger may be contemplating publishing another Vittoria book! If we do, it will not be a history book as such. It will be a story book - a collection of stories about Vittoria and district, as recalled by you and other local residents (present and past) as well as any others with knowledge and memories of our area.
If there is to be such a book, we will need input from literally hundreds of storytellers. Every one of us surely remembers many stories of interest to others. We have recently begun to compile a collection of memories - ordinary people's memories - folklore, legends, possibly even an occasional outright lie.
The supply of our combined memories should be infinite.

............................................................
We need people of all generations and ages to submit their stories. Don't worry about your spelling or grammar. We can polish that stuff up, if needed. Just tell us your stories in your own words.
The best way for us to be given the information is for each person to write down his or her own memories. Ideally, these could be given to us on a computer disk, or sent by e-mail, but handwritten or typed would also be most welcome. If you feel incapable of that, perhaps one of your children or grandchildren or a friend would like to help. (For example, Pat Barker has been writing out some of Don McCall's memories).
An alternate method of getting your memories is to tape record or videotape them. This can be done alone, or in a small group with one or two friends. We can arrange this if you like. Please keep the language respectable. Someone will have to transcribe your information from the tape to the computer.
This may be your only chance to get some of those wonderful stories you love to recall recorded for posterity. If we receive enough memories and stories, we plan to publish a collection in the form of another Vittoria book. The Editors reserve the right to select, edit, censor and use aliases.
It should be a lot of fun to share our stories and our memories. Anyone wishing to submit their stories, please contact Twila or Roger at 519-426-0234.
